Ascension Lacrosse Overnight Camp

  • Dates: June 8-11, 2026
  • Age Group: Rising 7th through rising 9th
  • Check-In: Check-in takes place between 9:00-10:00am on Monday next to the stadium field. There will be a camp orientation meeting for all campers at 10:30am. 
  • Check-out: Check-out is at noon on Thursday. Parents are invited to watch the final games of the camp, 9:30am to 11:30am.
  • Meals: Meals will be served in the South Room - Georgetown Prep’s Dining Hall. The following meals are included for campers:
    • Monday - lunch and dinner
    • Tuesday/Wednesday - breakfast, lunch and dinner
    • Thursday - breakfast
  • Program: The Ascension Overnight Camp is geared towards experienced intermediate/advanced players. There will be a focus on skill and IQ development with an approach emphasizing decision-making, adaptability, and learning through the natural chaos of gameplay.
  • Maryland and Georgetown Visits: Campers will be able to tour athletic facilities and talk with players/coaches from each school
  • *SPECIAL GOALIE TRAINING*: During all sessions, goalies are given training involving the development of their individual technique as well as instruction in game-like situations. In addition to focusing on individual instruction, each goalie will participate in shooting drills as well as drills designed to include the goalies as an integral part of team defense.

Staff

Camp will be directed and led by Georgetown Prep head coach, Andy Hilgartner, and GP assistant coach, Gene Ubriaco. Other members of the Prep coaching staff, along with current college and high school players, will be working with the campers. Our experienced staff and talented current players are excited to provide a developmental and competitive camp experience. Staff bios will be posted ASAP. 

 

Housing:

  • Dorm: Boland Dorm
  • Number of Campers Per Room: 2 campers per room
  • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
  • Bathrooms: Shared
  • Linens: Not included. Bring linens or a sleeping bag, a pillow, a pillowcase, and a towel.
  • Air Conditioning: YES - Dorm rooms have A/C units!

SUPERVISION

The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco are strictly prohibited and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.

Campers will receive a custom camp Reversible Jersey

Instruction, Equipment, and Facility

  • Ratio: 1:8 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your helmet, mouthpiece, cleats, lacrosse stick, gloves, and pads. Tennis/running shoes are required as well in case a session moves into the fieldhouse.
  • Facility: Athletic Fields
  • Medical Protocol: Our camp will have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

Transportation

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours, so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Georgetown Prep

Georgetown Preparatory School, founded in 1789 in North Bethesda, Maryland, is the nation's only Jesuit boarding and day school for young men. The 90-plus acre campus features top-tier athletic facilities, including the 140,000-square-foot Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence, an 18-hole golf course, and a new residence hall and campus center opened in 2022. 
Athletic Facilities (Hanley Center & Outdoors)
  • Indoor: The Hanley Center houses a 1,000-seat competition basketball arena, four additional practice courts, a 200-meter indoor track, a 6,000 sq. ft. fitness/weight room, a double-ring wrestling room, and a 11-lane, 25-meter natatorium with a diving well.
