Winter League Rules

THE ONLY INDOOR LACROSSE LEAGUE IN MARYLAND OFFERING BOTH FORMATS!

4v4 + Goalie
7v7 + Goalie

Your team will play BOTH formats throughout the season, giving players a unique indoor lacrosse experience with more touches, more opportunities, and more variety.

USL rules will be followed with the following modifications:

  • Goalies must wear the equipment stated in the rule book
  • 2 - 26 min running halves –  2-minute half time
  • Goalies restart play after each goal and must remain on sides (half field)
  • Draws will be taken at the beginning of each game and half. (unless decided otherwise by both coaches)
  • 4V4 + goalie (4 players and a goalie) on a modified sixes field
  • 6v6 + goalie (6 field players and a goalie) on a doubled modified sixes field
  • No timeouts
  • No 8-meters – play will start from spot of foul – have players move away and player that fouled move behind (refs will not be stopping to wait)
  • Ties will not be played out
  • Yellow card – 1 minute out
  • 2 yellow cards that player is removed from the game
  • Shooting the ball in a dangerous way without the regard for the positioning of an opposing player could result into a yellow card
  • All defensive players need to be marked up in front of the goal, a player can not just be standing in front of goal area
  •  Defenders can run through the crease
  •  An adult needs to be on the sideline to supervise- can be a parent/coach/alum
  •   Each team is responsible for wearing the same color reversible/uniform
  •   If your goalie cannot make a game, you may borrow from another team without penalty (the league will help find a goalie if you need it)
  • You may switch up and move players from your own teams, but in playoffs keep players on assigned teams.  
  • If you borrow plates from another team, the game will be played but it will be considered a forfeit.  
  • Sportsmanship should be displayed by refs,  players, COACHES, and parents

All Games are played on Saturdays at API - 740 MD-3, Gambrills, MD 21054 in the Large Dome. Additional Parking is behind the main dome at  Regency Retirement Community  730 MD-3, Gambrills, MD 21054 - Please park in designated spots for API and not in The Regency parking spots!
